A KPI (key performance indicator) is a core metric you choose to measure how close you are to a goal. In digital marketing a KPI might be monthly customers, cost per acquisition, ROAS or engagement rate.
Choosing a few KPIs tied directly to the goal, instead of measuring everything, makes it clear what works and what doesn’t. If the goal is sales, track sales and cost per acquisition, not likes.
A good KPI is measurable, time-bound and realistic, such as “grow online orders by 30% in three months”.

PRACTICAL TIPS
- 01Choose at most 2–3 KPIs per goal.
- 02Report KPIs regularly, weekly or monthly.
- 03Don’t confuse vanity metrics like likes with sales goals.
