CPC (cost per click) shows how much you pay on average for one click on your ad. It is the most commonly tracked cost metric in Google Ads and Meta ads.
CPC on its own is neither good nor bad. A low CPC means cheap clicks, but if those clicks don’t turn into customers the budget is still wasted. That is why CPC should always be read together with conversion rate and cost per acquisition (CPA).
CPC is shaped by competition, targeting, ad quality and the platform the click comes from. The more businesses bid on the same keyword, the higher the cost per click.
CPC = Total ad spend ÷ Total clicks
If you spent 4,000 TRY in a month and got 500 clicks, your CPC is 4,000 ÷ 500 = 8 TRY.
PRACTICAL TIPS
- 01Exclude irrelevant searches with negative keywords.
- 02Match ad copy to search intent to raise your Quality Score.
- 03Optimise for cost per acquisition (CPA), not CPC alone.
