A/B testing means showing two versions of an ad, page or piece of content to similar audiences at the same time to measure which performs better. It lets you decide with data instead of guesses.
In a proper test only one variable changes: the headline, visual, button text or offer. If several things change at once, you can’t tell what caused the difference.
You need enough data before drawing conclusions. Picking a winner after a few clicks can mislead; each version should usually get at least a few hundred impressions or dozens of conversions.
Two versions of the same ad, “20% off” and “Second item free”, run for a week; the one with the lower CPA is kept.
PRACTICAL TIPS
- 01Change only one element per test.
- 02Collect enough data before deciding.
- 03Use the winning version as the starting point for the next test.
